Gripping trailer for David Ayer’s intense new adventure thriller has been released ahead of its South African cinema release on 24 September
The trailer for Heart of the Beast, a gripping new adventure thriller starring Brad Pitt, has been released, offering audiences a look at an incredible fight for survival in the Alaskan wilderness. At the heart of the story is Pitt’s relationship with Odin, his remarkable military dog and loyal companion, bringing courage, bravery, companionship, loyalty and instinct to a powerful story that will have special appeal to animal lovers.
Heart of the Beast will release in cinemas nationwide in South Africa on 24 September 2026.

In the film, after a harrowing plane crash, special forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his military dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a fight for survival against the elements, with the film exploring the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.
The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer, whose credits include Fury, End of Watch and The Beekeeper, from a screenplay by Cameron Alexander.
Alongside Pitt, the cast includes J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Heart of the Beast is produced by Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen, David Ayer and Brad Pitt, with Damien Chazelle among the film’s executive producers.
