The L4 EV, L6 EV and L8 PHEV will lead a five-model display showcasing the future direction of Lepas in South Africa.
- The L4 EV, L6 EV and L8 PHEV will lead the Lepas display at the Festival of Motoring.
- A special L6 EV pre-order package will include a home charger, installation and charging credit.
- The recently revealed L6 ICE will also be on display, supported by exclusive WesBank instalment offers.
Lepas South Africa will place its new-energy ambitions firmly in the spotlight at the Festival of Motoring, taking place at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 28 to 30 August 2026.
At the heart of the brand’s display will be the fully electric L4 EV and L6 EV, alongside the L8 PHEV. Together, the three models signal the direction of Lepas in South Africa as electric and electrified vehicles become an increasingly important part of its local range.
They will be joined by the recently revealed L6 ICE and the L4 ICE, completing a five-model display that brings together the brand’s current offering and the new-energy vehicles set to shape its next phase.
The Festival appearance follows an encouraging start for Lepas. Since entering the local retail market in the first quarter of 2026, the brand has recorded more than 1,000 vehicle sales, providing a strong base from which to expand its presence and new-energy offering.
New energy takes centre stage
The Festival of Motoring will give visitors an early look at the next generation of the Lepas range, led by the L4 EV, L6 EV and L8 PHEV.
The fully electric L6 EV will make an early public appearance ahead of its South African launch. Lepas will also introduce a special pre-order package* designed to simplify the move to electric motoring by covering several of the practical requirements associated with home charging.
The package includes:
- A 7 kW home charger
- Full home-charger installation
- Vehicle-to-load capability
- A Type M charging cable
- A charging card and R5,000 charging voucher
By bringing the charger, installation and charging credit together in one package, Lepas is removing several of the additional considerations that can accompany the transition to an electric vehicle.
Further information regarding the L6 EV, including its local launch timing, will be announced in due course.
The L6 ICE will also feature prominently at the Festival, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the recently revealed model. Exclusive WesBank instalment offers will be available on the L6 ICE during the three-day event.
The L4 ICE, which introduced Lepas to South African motorists earlier this year, will complete the display.
A new-energy future with a feline edge
Lepas is taking its place as the new-energy brand within the Chery South Africa Group, with electric and electrified vehicles set to play an increasingly prominent role in its local range.
That direction is underpinned by an aspirational lifestyle identity shaped by the poise, agility and self-assurance of the leopard. The feline influence runs through the brand’s design language and character, giving Lepas a distinct position within the wider automotive market.
“Surpassing 1,000 sales within our first few months in South Africa is an important achievement, but it is only the beginning,” says Jay Jay Botes, General Manager of Lepas and Chery South Africa.
“The Festival of Motoring allows us to show South Africans where Lepas is heading. With the L4 EV, L6 EV and L8 PHEV leading our display, visitors will get a clear view of the new-energy vehicles that will shape our future, while the recently revealed L6 ICE remains an important part of our growing local range.”
With its electric and electrified models taking centre stage, the Festival of Motoring marks the next step in the evolution of Lepas in South Africa: assured, expressive and ready to pounce on a new-energy future.
