LIMPOPO — Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane has officially launched the party’s local government election campaign in Botlokwa, outside Polokwane in Limpopo, outlining a clear mandate to accelerate service delivery and secure meaningful council representation in the province.
During the campaign launch, Maimane introduced nine candidates who will contest in nine municipalities across the province. He emphasized the party’s steady growth in the region since its formation in September 2022, framing the local candidate rollout as a testament to their expanding political influence.
“We are here to demonstrate the fact that we are growing here in Limpopo,” Maimane stated. He added that the party is actively showing South Africans that BOSA can successfully expand its reach and deliver results across all communities in the country.
Joined by BOSA’s provincial leader, Timothy Malulea, Maimane highlighted the party’s strategic objectives for the upcoming November 4 local government elections. “From 2024, BOSA has been growing in Limpopo. Now we want to have representation in councils so that we can bring change,” Maimane asserted. “I think the people of Limpopo have suffered long enough under this government.”
The campaign launch resonated strongly with local party supporters, many of whom expressed deep frustration with the current ruling administration. Residents voiced a loss of faith in the ruling government after years of voting without witnessing tangible community improvements. Supporters emphasized that they are frequently “sent from pillar to post” when seeking basic assistance from the current municipal offices. Consequently, voters are counting on BOSA to repair dilapidated roads and comprehensively address overarching service delivery failures.
Beyond the provincial focus, the campaign launch reinforced BOSA’s broader national strategy. The party confirmed it will contest in 24 municipalities across five provinces in the forthcoming local government elections, positioning itself as a capable alternative dedicated to capacitating municipalities and delivering uninterrupted services to residents.
