WESTERN CAPE — A significant Century City firearms seizure has resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old foreign national after authorities uncovered a hidden cache of unlicensed weapons and ballistic supplies. Acting on actionable intelligence, local law enforcement units executed a targeted raid on Friday afternoon, successfully taking a dangerous arsenal off the streets.
The tactical takedown occurred at precisely 16:00 on Friday, 14 August 2026. According to the Provincial Police Spokesperson, the operation was a self-initiated, intelligence-driven collaboration between members of the Public Order Police and Provincial Organised Crime detectives. The joint task force had been tracking specific reports regarding a foreign national unlawfully stockpiling weapons in the area.
Following the operationalization of this tip-off, officers descended upon the Bridge Water Apartments complex located on Conference Lane. A thorough search of the targeted premises yielded a substantial haul: four unlicensed firearms and exactly 98 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect, identified by authorities as a Nigerian national, was immediately apprehended at the scene. Beyond the weapons and ballistic evidence, the Provincial Police Spokesperson confirmed that investigators also secured several high-value electronic devices.
