The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Bevin Bazil Goncalves to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the murder of a 73-year-old man, Gauteng provincial authorities announced.
The court found Goncalves guilty on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on April 22, 2022. The victim was seated in his vehicle when an armed assailant approached and shot him multiple times. He was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
The case was investigated by the Gauteng Organised Crime Investigation Unit, leading to the arrest of two suspects. Goncalves was convicted and sentenced, while a second accused was acquitted by the court.
