A 46-year-old man is being held in police custody after appearing in the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 June 2026, in connection with a business burglary at a local farm in Thabazimbi last week.
The suspect was apprehended in Lephalale after being seen driving a white Nissan bakkie along Jan Lee Street. Police were able to track the vehicle down after surveillance footage from the Thabazimbi farm positively identified it as the one used during the commission of the crime.
Following his arrest, the suspect reportedly admitted that he was hired to carry out the heist by an unidentified man who is a former employee of a private game reserve. He further disclosed that the burglary was a coordinated operation involving a total of four suspects.
Law enforcement is currently conducting a manhunt for the three remaining male suspects, who are still at large.
