A 21-year-old man has been convicted and sentenced to a combined 11 years in prison following an investigation by the Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
Samuel Thapelo Makibelo appeared in court where he was handed a 10-year sentence for rape. In a separate count, he received an additional one-year imprisonment for possession of a dangerous weapon. The court ordered that the sentences run consecutively, resulting in a total of 11 years’ direct imprisonment.
