Marble Hall Drug Arrest: Ifeyanyi Ambrose Ezeh Remanded in Custody Over R40,000 Narcotics Seizure

Provincial Organised Crime Investigations intercept suspected heroin and crystal meth on the R33 following a tip-off about an illicit delivery from Pretoria.

MPUMALANGA – Authorities have remanded 47-year-old Ifeyanyi Ambrose Ezeh in custody following a significant Marble Hall drug arrest linked to an intercepted narcotics delivery. Ezeh appeared at the Marble Hall Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 August 2026, facing charges of drug possession and dealing. His matter was postponed to 28 August 2026 to allow for a formal bail application.

The apprehension took place on Sunday, 16 August 2026, at approximately 07:00. The bust was the culmination of an intelligence-led operation executed by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations: Narcotics Unit.

Law enforcement officers acted on a specific tip-off indicating that an adult male was en route from Pretoria to Marble Hall to complete an alleged drug delivery. Monitoring the R33 road, police successfully identified and pulled over a white Volkswagen Polo R-Line matching the suspect’s description.

A thorough search of the vehicle revealed a black plastic bag concealed inside. The bag contained 10 balls of suspected heroin alongside 15 sachets of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Law enforcement officials have estimated the total street value of the confiscated substances at R40,000.

Ezeh was immediately placed under arrest at the scene. Both the suspected narcotics and the white Volkswagen Polo R-Line were officially seized as evidence.

A spokesperson for the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations: Narcotics Unit confirmed that the suspect remains in custody and that active police investigations are continuing to build the case ahead of the scheduled bail hearing.
