MPUMALANGA — A multi-disciplinary police operation in Dundonald, Mayflower, has resulted in the arrest of two suspects linked to the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The intelligence-led raid, executed on 16 July 2026, successfully targeted alleged illegal weapons activity in the Redhill sector of the community.

Spokespersons for the Witbank Tactical Response Team (TRT), the Standerton and Ermelo K9 Units, and Provincial Crime Intelligence confirmed that the joint tactical effort was initiated following specific, intelligence-driven reports. The information identified two brothers residing in Redhill, Dundonald, as alleged possessors of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

During the execution of the operation at the first identified address, officers apprehended a 35-year-old man who was found in possession of a shotgun and 37 live rounds of ammunition. The individual was immediately taken into custody after failing to present a valid license or permit for either the firearm or the ammunition.
