NELSON MANDELA BAY, Eastern Cape — Local authorities have launched an investigation following a deadly incident in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro, where ANC Ward Councillor Sicelo Mleve was shot dead. The fatal attack on the Ward 27 representative took place shortly after the official voter registration process came to a close.
A spokesperson for the African National Congress (ANC) confirmed the tragic details, stating that the elected official was killed at his own ward office. As the community leader for Ward 27, Mleve was responsible for serving a local constituency that spans sections of Zwide and Soweto-on-Sea.
Currently, the motive behind the murder remains unknown. Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, but officials report that no arrests have been made in connection with the death of the Nelson Mandela Bay ANC ward councillor at this time.
