Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised Namakgale SAPS members for arresting a 26-year-old man for murder.
The suspect is charged with killing a 26-year-old woman from Nyakelang section one, Makhushane Village.
The arrest followed two community alerts to police. First, witnesses reported seeing the suspect assaulting his girlfriend on the street. The next morning, a neighbor called police after hearing sustained screaming from a house overnight and into the day, suspecting a domestic fight.
Upon police arrival at the house, a man exited and fled. Police, assisted by community members, chased and apprehended him.
Returning to the house, police found the female victim on a bed with facial bruises and head injuries. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
