The IEC noted that an impressive 99 percent of the country’s 23,699 voting districts unlocked their doors right on schedule at 8 a.m. To further facilitate this civic duty and accommodate the high volume of citizens, the Department of Home Affairs also proactively extended its branch operating hours throughout the August 1 and 2, 2026 weekend.
