On Monday, 04 May 2026, members of the Benoni Flying Squad arrested a 27-year-old suspect and recovered a stolen motor vehicle in separate operations.
At approximately 13:30, officers patrolling in Kempton Park arrested the suspect at the corner of Long and Casuarina Streets. During the arrest, police recovered fourteen and a half mandrax tablets and eight rocks of cocaine.
In a separate incident, a stolen white JAC T9 bakkie was recovered in collaboration with Tracker. The vehicle was located on Sterkfontein Street, between Olifantsfontein and Centurion, and had been reported stolen in a case filed in Sandringham.
The suspect appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of drugs.
Investigations into both matters are continuing.
