Two Arrested in Kuilsrivier Following R3 Million Drug Bust

KUISRIVIER – A 29-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man are expected to appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, facing charges of drug possession and dealing following the seizure of narcotics valued at R3 million.

The arrests were executed by members of the Anti-Economic Crime Task Team on Monday, 15 June 2026, at approximately 04:30. Acting on intelligence regarding drug-related activity, officers converged on a bed and breakfast in the Langverwacht area of Kuilsrivier, Western Cape.

Upon arrival, police located a man matching the suspect’s description and a woman inside a room. A white VW Polo was parked directly in front of their room. During the operation, officers observed a large black bag on the vehicle’s back seat through the window.

The suspect was requested to unlock the vehicle, allowing police to conduct a search. Inside, officers recovered 51 bags containing mandrax tablets and five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of R3,000,000.

Additionally, R17,000 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime, was confiscated. All seized items have been handed in as police exhibits.

Both suspects were arrested at the scene on charges of possession of and dealing in drugs. They remain in custody ahead of their scheduled court appearance this Wednesday.
