BOSCHKOP – A coordinated law enforcement operation has resulted in a significant Boschkop car-jamming arrest, with two individuals taken into custody after police uncovered an illegal signal-jamming device. The incident occurred on Saturday, 22 August 2026, marking a proactive step by local authorities to dismantle vehicle theft networks utilizing advanced electronic disruption technology.
According to a spokesperson for SAPS Boschkop, officers were executing routine crime prevention patrols along Graham Road at approximately 15:50 when their attention was drawn to a black Volkswagen Polo exhibiting suspicious characteristics. Police promptly coordinated with Echo-1 Security to monitor the vehicle while it remained parked outside a nearby restaurant.
Following a brief period of surveillance, law enforcement officers initiated a stop-and-search procedure on the vehicle, which was occupied by two individuals. A thorough inspection of the interior revealed a signal-jamming device concealed on the rear seat, a tool frequently associated with high-tech vehicle thefts and remote-locking interference.
Both occupants were immediately apprehended and transported to the SAPS Boschkop facility for detention. The two individuals are scheduled to stand before the Cullinan Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 August 2026.
