Westcon-Comstor expands Dorio Bowes’ leadership role across Middle East and Africa

Dorio Bowes takes on additional responsibility as MEA Alliance Lead while continuing to head Comstor Southern Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa – 01 September 2026 Westcon-Comstor, a global technology distributor specialising in cybersecurity, networking and hybrid cloud solutions, today announced the appointment of Dorio Bowes as Director, Comstor Southern Africa and MEA Alliance Lead, expanding his leadership responsibilities to include strategic alliance engagement across the Middle East and Africa.

Bowes, who currently leads the Comstor business in Southern Africa, will retain responsibility for the region while taking on the additional MEA Alliance Lead role. His expanded remit will focus on strengthening strategic vendor relationships, improving alignment across markets and identifying new opportunities to create value for partners and customers throughout MEA.

The appointment reflects Westcon-Comstor’s continued focus on greater regional alignment in its vendor and partner strategies, while retaining the local market knowledge needed to turn those strategies into tangible business opportunities.

Bowes has played an instrumental role in developing the Comstor business in Southern Africa, building strong relationships across the vendor and partner ecosystem, developing a high-performing team, and expanding the business’s presence in the market.

“Dorio has demonstrated an ability to bring together strategy, relationships and execution,” said Tidiane Lo, Vice President, GTM Westcon-Comstor MEA. “There is enormous diversity across the Middle East and Africa, so success depends on understanding individual markets while also finding the areas where we can create greater consistency, scale and collaboration. Dorio brings that combination of local experience and broader strategic thinking to this role.”

As MEA Alliance Lead, Bowes will work to deepen engagement with strategic vendors and ensure closer alignment between alliance priorities and the opportunities being developed within individual markets. The role will also support greater collaboration across the region, allowing teams to share expertise, identify common opportunities, and build on successful approaches used in different countries.

For Bowes, the expanded role offers an opportunity to apply lessons developed in Southern Africa across a much broader and more diverse regional environment.

“What excites me about this opportunity is the ability to connect strong local execution with a broader regional strategy,” said Dorio Bowes, Director, Comstor Southern Africa and MEA Alliance Lead at Westcon-Comstor. “Every market across MEA has its own dynamics, partner ecosystem and customer requirements, so this is not about applying a single formula everywhere. It is about getting closer to our alliances, understanding where the opportunities are and helping our teams and partners turn those opportunities into sustainable growth.”

Bowes will continue to lead Comstor Southern Africa alongside his new MEA responsibilities.
