DeKalb County authorities have released the name of a woman killed during an alleged crime spree earlier this week that left two people dead and another injured in a series of shootings across the area.
Prianna Weathers, 31, was gunned down outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road early Monday morning, according to police.
The shooting is linked to two other incidents that occurred within a span of just a few hours. In Decatur, 40-year-old Lauren Bulli, a Department of Homeland Security employee, was fatally shot while walking her dog in her neighborhood on Battle Forest. Another shooting at a Kroger in Brookhaven injured an unhoused man who had been sleeping at the location.
Later that same day, authorities arrested 40-year-old Olaolulitan Adon Abel in connection with the crimes.
DHS spokesperson confirmed that Adan Abel is originally from the UK and became a U.S. citizen in 2022. The agency noted that nothing uncovered in his criminal history at the time would have prevented his naturalization.
Investigators have also linked Adan Abel to at least one prior conviction involving a series of groping incidents reported by multiple women in Savannah last year.
The investigation into the random shootings continues.
