Sabinal, Texas — A man was taken into custody in Sabinal after leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of up to 140 miles per hour, officials said.
The chase ended when the vehicle was brought to a stop using spike strips, according to the mayor of Sabinal, who shared images of the aftermath at the scene.
Investigators have connected the incident to a human smuggling operation, the mayor stated. No additional details on specific charges have been released so far.
