Atlanta police are investigating a shooting in southwest Atlanta that left a woman injured and a man detained at the scene.
Officers responded to a call on Staten Road just after 11 a.m. Monday, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. She was transported to a hospital and remained alert and conscious, according to authorities.
A man known to the victim was detained by police at the location. Investigators are working to determine the events leading up to the shooting and the motivation behind it.
