A 33-year-old man is in police custody after being found in possession of heroin, commonly known as nyaope, with an estimated street value of R18,000.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at approximately 15:30. According to police reports, members of the Johannesburg Flying Squad were conducting a routine patrol in the President Park area of Midrand when they stopped and searched the male suspect.
The search led to the discovery and seizure of 800 packets of the illegal drug.
The suspect was immediately placed under arrest for possession of drugs. He has been detained at the Midrand SAPS holding cells, where he is awaiting further investigation.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is scheduled to make a court appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in the near future.
