A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 26-year-old woman, who was previously reported missing. The arrest took place on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at Sihlakwane Village in Groblersdal.
According to police reports, the breakthrough in the case came after the suspect was taken in for questioning. During the interrogation, the man allegedly confessed to assaulting his girlfriend with a beer bottle, leaving her unconscious.
Following his statement, a formal pointing-out was conducted. The suspect led police investigators to a bushy area on a farm situated between Chrissiesmeer and Carolina.
At the location, authorities discovered the body of the deceased. The victim was found naked and in a decomposed state.
The suspect is expected to face a murder charge and will appear in court soon. The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending official notification of her next of kin.
