R620,000 in Narcotics Seized, Woman Arrested

In a targeted operation, South African Police Service (SAPS) members have arrested a 24-year-old woman on a charge of dealing in drugs after uncovering a substantial cache of narcotics at her Oudtshoorn residence.

The operation took place on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, when Oudtshoorn SAPS Crime Prevention members, acting on a search warrant, conducted a raid at a premises in Klapperbos Court, Bridgeton.

A systematic search of the property led investigators to a bedroom. Behind a bed, they discovered five bags containing the drugs tik (crystal meth) and mandrax. The search continued, leading to the discovery of more tik concealed amongst clothing within a cupboard.

 

The total haul confiscated amounted to just over 1.4 kilograms of tik and 2,500 mandrax tablets. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is R620,000.

The woman was arrested on the scene and is due to make her first appearance in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, 12 December 2025, to face the dealing charge.
