Two suspects were fatally shot in a shootout with police in Stormhill, Florida, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at approximately 18:10.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) from the Florida station were on patrol when they noticed two males acting suspiciously. Police attempted to stop them, but the suspects fired a shot, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Both suspects were fatally wounded. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Preliminary investigation links the suspects to a business robbery at a local company.
Police have opened a case for business robbery, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of murder. An investigation is underway.
