An intelligence-driven operation by Malmesbury SAPS resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old male on Thursday, 12 February 2026.
Members conducted a search at a premises in Malmesbury, where they encountered a person in possession of a backpack. A subsequent search of the bag led to the discovery and confiscation of 43 rounds of .308 calibre rifle ammunition.
The suspect was arrested on the scene. He is scheduled to appear in the Malmesbury Magistrates’ Court to face charges related to the possession of the ammunition.
