A swift response by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Pienaarsrivier, operating under the Waterberg District, resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old undocumented foreign national on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
The arrest follows a reported housebreaking incident at a farm in the area. According to police reports, shortly after the complaint was filed, authorities received a tip-off from farm security officers regarding a suspicious vehicle believed to be transporting stolen goods in the vicinity.
Police promptly intercepted a white Opel Corsa bakkie bearing Gauteng registration plates. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of several stolen items linked to the farm burglary.
The driver, identified as a 34-year-old male citizen of Mozambique, was found to be in the country illegally. He was arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen property, housebreaking and theft, and contravention of the Immigration Act.
Authorities have confirmed that four additional suspects involved in the incident remain at large. Police have stated that efforts to trace and apprehend the outstanding suspects are ongoing.
