Moeketsi Charles Mofokeng, 38, from Bohlokong near Bethlehem, was sentenced to life imprisonment on 8 April 2026 for the rape of a 16-year-old girl from the same township.
The conviction and sentencing were secured through the joint efforts of the Bethlehem Family, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
The case was investigated by Detective Sergeant Matumelo Monareng of the Bethlehem FCS. Prosecutor Advocate Babes Twalo led the state’s case, and the proceedings were presided over by Magistrate Mpama.
