A 21-year-old female was arrested on Friday, 17 April 2026, after police discovered drugs in her room in Odendaalsrus.
According to police, members of Odendaalsrus Social Crime Prevention, Odendaalsrus Crime Prevention Unit, and the Welkom Tactical Response Team acted on information received regarding a female allegedly in possession of a suspected illegal substance.
Upon arrival at the identified residence, officers located a female matching the description provided. Permission to search the room was requested and granted. During the search, police found and seized two plastic bags containing 42 rocks of crystal meth. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is R4,800.
The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs. The 42 rocks of crystal meth were booked in as evidence for further investigation.
The 21-year-old female is expected to appear before the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court soon.
