Man Wounded in West Side Shooting; Ex-Boyfriend Sought by Police

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A man is hospitalized and a shooter remains at large following a domestic-related shooting on the city’s west side early Friday morning, according to police.

The incident unfolded just before 7:00 a.m. and involved two separate crime scenes. Authorities state that the violence began outside a woman’s home on Florencia Avenue near 6:45 a.m.

According to San Antonio police, a man drove up to a duo who were sitting in their car, and an argument immediately started. In the middle of the dispute, police say the man pulled out a gun and fired multiple times. The driver was struck in the leg.

Despite his injury, the wounded man drove off with the woman in his car while they contacted police. Investigators say the shooter then chased the vehicle to Southwest 34th Street before fleeing the scene.

Police believe the suspect is the woman’s ex-boyfriend. As of Friday morning, the gunman remains on the run while the male victim is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate.
