A 24-year-old suspect is set to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court on Monday, following his arrest on Friday, 22 May 2026, for possession of drugs and illegal ammunition.
Members of Operation Lockdown III were conducting stop-and-search operations in the area when they stopped a person at the corner of Joyce and Edmund Street. During the search, authorities found 200 small packets containing crystal meth, half a Mandrax tablet, and one round of ammunition in his possession.
The suspect was arrested on the scene and faces charges of drug possession and illegal possession of ammunition. The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to rid communities of drug distribution.
