A 17-year-old male suspect has been arrested by police in connection with an alleged burglary at Kweledi High School in the Tubatse policing area. The incident took place on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
According to reports, a security officer on routine patrol discovered the suspect in the early morning hours at approximately 01:30. The officer heard noises coming from the staff room and, upon investigating, found the teenager inside the building. The staff room had been locked, and it remains unclear how the suspect gained entry.
The security officer then contacted fellow security personnel, who advised notifying the police. Officers responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody.
A case of business burglary has been opened for further investigation. The suspect will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court soon.
