Keimoes Police Bust Drug Network: R300,000 in Narcotics Seized, Two Suspects in Custody

A coordinated police operation in Keimoes on Thursday, 28 May 2026, has resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug dealers and the recovery of illicit substances with a combined estimated street value approaching R300,000.

The operation began around 12:00 when members of the Keimoes Crime Prevention unit were conducting routine patrols. Officers intercepted a vehicle containing two males, aged 43 and 18, suspected of drug distribution. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, police discovered 64 Mandrax tablets hidden inside, valued at approximately R6,400. Both occupants were immediately placed under arrest.

Acting on further intelligence, investigators secured a search warrant for the suspects’ residence in the Curriescamp settlement of Keimoes. A meticulous search of the premises uncovered two separate concealed caches: a quantity of tik (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of R246,397 recovered from one location, and an additional 300 Mandrax tablets, valued at roughly R30,000, found hidden elsewhere on the property.

A formal case of possession of drugs has been opened against the two suspects. The vehicle allegedly utilized in the commission of the offense has been impounded by SAPS as evidence. Both individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Keimoes Magistrate’s Court to face charges.
