Suspect Identified and Arrested: Modimolle House Robbery Case Heads to Court

21-year-old man will stand before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 02 June 2026, charged with house robbery after being apprehended by local detectives.

The alleged crime took place on Saturday, 30 May 2026, at around 17:40. A woman walking through Modimolle was reportedly approached by an individual who tried to steal her backpack, which held cash, her identity document, house keys, and medication.

When the victim ran to a neighboring house for protection, the suspect allegedly chased her, broke into the home, attacked her, and seized the backpack before escaping.

Modimolle SAPS opened a house robbery docket for investigation. Detectives from Modimolle used intelligence-driven investigative methods to identify the suspect, leading to his arrest on Monday, 01 June 2026, in Mandela Village, Modimolle.

He is set to appear in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 02 June 2026, to face a charge of house robbery. Investigations by police are still underway.
