UITSIG — A 48-year-old woman is in police custody following the recovery of 100 Mandrax tablets at her residence on Thursday, 18 June 2026.
Acting on information received regarding suspected drug activities, members of Operation Lockdown III arrived at a property on Carnation Avenue in Uitsig at approximately 16:00. During a thorough search of the premises, officers discovered the illicit drugs concealed inside a plastic bag that had been tightly wrapped into a ball.
The suspect, who was present at the residence during the operation, was subsequently arrested and detained. She remains in custody and is expected to make her first appearance in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once formally charged.
