GAUTENG — Three suspects were shot dead and one individual was arrested following a shootout with law enforcement at the Baccleuch Interchange on June 25, 2026.
The operation was initiated after police received intelligence regarding a group of men traveling in three separate vehicles around shopping malls. The group was suspected of being linked to the alleged Rolex gang.
The Gauteng Tactical Response Team (TRT) spotted one of the identified vehicles on the N3. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled, initiating a high-speed chase and a subsequent shootout. The TRT was supported during the pursuit by the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, the Gauteng Traffic Air Wing, and private security companies.
The suspects’ vehicle eventually came to a stop at the Baccleuch Interchange. The three suspects were declared dead at the scene, and police recovered two pistols from the vehicle.
While officers were processing the scene, a second identified vehicle was spotted in traffic and successfully intercepted. The driver, who was alone in the car, was arrested and will be charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
