FREE STATE — Following a significant Tumahole dagga arrest, three men are facing narcotics charges after law enforcement seized an illegal drug haul valued at R36,000. The suspects, aged between 25 and 30, were apprehended by the Fezile Dabi District Trio Task Team and are now slated for a formal court appearance.
The tactical operation unfolded on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, at approximately 13:00. While executing routine patrols through the Old Location section of the area, task team members spotted three males engaging in suspicious behavior.
Prompted by their observations, officers moved in to intercept the group. A comprehensive search of both the individuals and the immediate premises yielded multiple packets of the prohibited substance. Authorities estimated the street value of the confiscated dagga at R36,000.
The discovery led to the immediate detention of all three men on charges of drug possession. Furthermore, subsequent checks revealed that one of the apprehended individuals lacks legal status, resulting in an additional charge of being an undocumented foreign national.
The trio is scheduled to make their formal debut at the Parys Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 26 June 2026, to answer to the possession charges.
