KWAZULU-NATAL – A 34-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested for drug dealing in Montclair and is scheduled to appear before the Durban Magistrate’s Court today. The apprehension was executed by the Provincial Firearms and Drugs Unit following the discovery of illicit substances and unexplained funds.
According to the Provincial Firearms and Drugs Unit, the suspect was taken into custody in Montclair after authorities found him in possession of cocaine powder. The seized drugs carry an estimated street value of R30,000.00.
During the arrest, officers also discovered R5,000.00 in cash on the suspect. Authorities noted that the individual could not properly account for the source or purpose of the money during questioning.
The accused is expected to face formal charges of dealing in drugs at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on 31 August 2026.
