The new Lepas L6 ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) made its South African public debut at the Festival of Motoring in August 2026, giving local audiences their first opportunity to experience the brand’s latest SUV up close.Â
Following the introduction of the compact L4 ICE, the L6 ICE brings a more substantial presence to the Lepas line-up. Powered by a refined internal combustion powertrain, its confident exterior design is matched by a spacious, carefully considered cabin, comfort-focused engineering and a strong suite of technology and safety features. Exterior design & colour palette
The Lepas L6 has a bold, design-led exterior that gives it a clear sense of presence on the road. Its front end is shaped to appear confident and purposeful, with a prominent grille, slim upper lighting signature and lower lamp elements that help create a distinctive face.
The profile is clean and softly sculpted, while the rear treatment gives the L6 a wider, more planted look. LED lighting adds to the vehicle’s modern appearance, with the overall design balancing SUV practicality with a more polished, lifestyle-focused character.

Interior and comfort features
Inside, the cabin is designed to feel calm, spacious, and more refined than expected in its segment. The cabin places strong emphasis on comfort, featuring supportive faux leather seats with up to 6-way power adjustment and 4-way electric lumbar support for the driver, alongside 4-way power adjustment for the front passenger. Selected models also add seat heating and ventilation. That sense of refinement is supported by a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and an advanced ventilation system featuring N95-level filtration, front windshield automatic defogging, and water ioniser air purification on high-spec variants. Advanced chassis tuning and vibration-damping engineering further contribute to a quieter and more settled cabin.
Technology
There’s a strong technology focus to the cabin, led by a 13.2-inch centre touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Higher-tier specifications feature an 8-speaker Sony Premium Audio System for an immersive listening experience. The offline voice-control system is designed to provide seamless convenience on the move.Â
The L6 also features 50W wireless fast charging, front dual Type-C ports, and rear USB/Type-C charging ports, ensuring all occupants stay connected. An electronic column shifter replaces the traditional gear selector, freeing up valuable centre console storage space and contributing to the cabin’s modern layout.
Performance and engineering
The Lepas L6 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. It delivers 108 kW and 225 N.m of torque, with claimed fuel consumption of 7.2 L/100 km.
The driving experience has been tuned with comfort and everyday usability in mind. The L6 uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, supported by a full-frame rear subframe to help provide a more composed ride. Additional engineering measures have been applied to reduce vibration and road noise, contributing to a quieter, more settled feel from behind the wheel.
For tighter spaces, the L6 also includes a tracing reverse function, which can assist the driver by reversing the vehicle along a previously driven path for up to 50 metres.
Practicality
The Lepas L6 has been packaged to make the most of its footprint, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase helping to create a roomy cabin for both front and rear occupants. Rear passengers have up to 911 mm of legroom, while 39 storage areas throughout the cabin give the L6 useful day-to-day practicality.
The rear seats can also fold flat, opening up additional flexibility for luggage, longer items or leisure use. It adds to the L6’s appeal as a vehicle designed for daily commuting, family use and weekend travel.
Safety
The Lepas L6 has been specified with a broad safety and driver-assistance package, designed to support both everyday driving and longer journeys. It offers 19 ADAS features, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot detection, autonomous emergency braking and traffic jam assist.
Occupant protection is supported by seven airbags, including side curtain airbags and far-side airbags, while the body structure uses 74% high-strength steel. The L6 also features 540-degree panoramic HD imaging, using four surround cameras and a transparent chassis view to give the driver greater visibility around the vehicle.
Further assistance comes from Bosch IPB 2.0 brake-by-wire technology, 12 active safety functions and automated parking assistance, helping to make the L6 more confidence-inspiring in demanding driving situations.
