Nairobi, September 17th, 2026 – The Project Management Institute (PMI) Kenya Chapter has been named the Sub-Saharan Africa Chapter of the Year, a prestigious recognition that celebrates the Chapter’s leadership, innovation, member engagement and contribution to advancing the project management profession.
The award places PMI Kenya at the forefront of project management excellence in the region, following a competitive process involving chapters across 24 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The recognition is a significant milestone for PMI Kenya, which is committed to advancing project management as a national competence and strengthening the capacity of professionals to deliver successful projects that create value for organisations, communities and the wider economy.
The PMI Chapter of the Year Award evaluates chapters across areas including community impact, knowledge empowerment, member engagement and satisfaction, PMI values, chapter sustainability and volunteer excellence.
Commenting on the achievement, Maureen Ochang, President and Board Chairperson, PMI Kenya Chapter, the award is a reflection of the collective effort of the Chapter’s members, volunteers, partners and leadership.
