Police in Limpopo have arrested a 61-year-old man on charges of rape after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl multiple times in Vuvha village, under the Vhulaudzi policing area in the Vhembe District.
According to police reports, the assaults occurred between 12 May 2025 and 18 May 2025. The latest incident took place on Sunday, 18 May 2025, at approximately 13:00, when community members noticed the young girl entering the suspect’s residence. Concerned, they alerted her guardian, who was attending a church service at the time.
Upon returning home, the guardian questioned the child and discovered that the suspect had allegedly raped the victim on several occasions between 12 May and 16 May 2025, with the most recent assault occurring on 18 May 2025.
The victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for examination, and a rape case was opened. Police swiftly traced and arrested the suspect.
The accused is expected to make his first court appearance before the Dzanani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
