The operation, aimed at ensuring strict compliance with national immigration legislation, successfully intercepted a minibus taxi carrying individuals unable to verify their legal status in the country.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday morning, 17 September 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m. Officers executing the Vehicle Checkpoint (VCP) stopped the minibus taxi along the N7 National Route. During a routine search of the vehicle, police discovered eight passengers who could not produce valid documentation authorizing their stay in the Republic of South Africa.
The eight individuals were immediately taken into custody for further processing.
