GAUTENG — Law enforcement officials are praising a targeted Eldorado Park ammunition seizure that resulted in the immediate apprehension of a 27-year-old suspect. Acting on precise intelligence regarding unlicensed ballistic materials, officers moved to neutralize a potential threat within the local policing precinct.
An Eldorado Park Police Spokesperson confirmed that the operation was launched on Tuesday, 4 August 2026. After receiving actionable tips about an individual unlawfully stockpiling firearms supplies, detectives operationalized the data to track down the suspect’s exact location and execute a lawful search.
A subsequent sweep of the premises revealed a substantial and varied arsenal of live fire. The police spokesperson detailed that investigators recovered exactly 72 live rounds during the raid. The confiscated items included a dangerous mix of 40 9mm rounds, 9 R5 rifle rounds, and 23 .22-calibre bullets.
Unable to produce valid licenses for the weaponry, the suspect was taken into custody on the spot.
