Pedestrians Struck in Olievenhoutbosch Shopping Centre Crash; Three Hospitalized

OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH, GAUTENG — Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene of an Olievenhoutbosch shopping centre crash on Tuesday afternoon after a motorist lost control of their vehicle, striking pedestrians before hitting a parked car. The rapid intervention resulted in three individuals receiving treatment for minor to moderate injuries.

The chaotic incident unfolded at approximately 17h21 when a CERT-SA Centurion response unit arrived at the local retail complex. According to initial assessments, the out-of-control vehicle first hit two people walking on foot. The car then continued its path, ultimately slamming into a stationary, parked vehicle to come to a halt.

Paramedics immediately triaged the victims at the scene. In total, three patients were evaluated, with their injuries classified as ranging from minor to moderate. After receiving essential on-site medical stabilization, all three individuals were confirmed to be in stable condition and were safely transported to a nearby hospital for continued medical care.

The successful handling of the emergency was a highly collaborative effort involving multiple first responder agencies. CERT-SA Emergency Medical Services publicly expressed their gratitude for the exceptional teamwork displayed by their partners on the ground. The assisting organizations included Vision Tactical, ER24, the Gauteng Emergency Medical Services, and the Olievenhoutbosch Community Policing Forum (CPF).
