Section F Botshabelo Drug Seizure: 38-Year-Old Suspect Arrested with Meth and CAT

Selosesha Police Operations execute an intelligence-led raid, recovering narcotics concealed in a household heater ahead of a scheduled court appearance

FREE STATE – A significant Section F Botshabelo drug seizure occurred on Monday, 24 August 2026, leading to the apprehension of a 38-year-old male allegedly in possession of illicit narcotics. The targeted law enforcement operation successfully intercepted crystal meth and CAT, reinforcing ongoing regional anti-drug initiatives.

According to a spokesperson for the Selosesha Police Operations (POP), the raid was launched at approximately 15:00 after officers received a specific intelligence tip-off regarding suspected drug activity. Law enforcement personnel promptly responded to a designated residential address in Section F, Botshabelo, to conduct a search.

During the premises inspection, authorities discovered a concealed cache of substances. Investigators recovered 36 small packets of CAT and six small packets of crystal meth that had been strategically hidden inside an old paraffin heater.

A spokesperson for the Selosesha POP confirmed that the confiscated narcotics hold an estimated street value of R4 000.00. The 38-year-old man was taken into custody to face charges related to the alleged possession of dangerous drugs.

The spokesperson further stated that the detained suspect is expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrate’s Court soon to answer to the formal charges as the investigation proceeds.
