Two Arrested, Over 160 Tik Sachets Seized in Durbanville Crime Operations

DURBANVILLE — The Durbanville Crime Prevention Unit arrested two suspects and confiscated narcotics during targeted crime-combating operations conducted between Friday, June 12, 2026, and Saturday, June 13, 2026.

During search operations on Friday, June 12, officers discovered 55 straws of tik at the Fisantekraal squatter camp. A 33-year-old male suspect was arrested on charges of dealing and possession of the drug.

The following day, on Saturday, June 13, a 45-year-old male suspect was arrested for drug possession in Birch Street, Fisantekraal. Authorities confiscated 110 tik sachets found in his possession, which have been officially booked as police exhibits. The combined seizures total more than 160 tik sachets.

Both suspects are currently detained at the Durbanville South African Police Service (SAPS) station and are expected to appear at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once formally charged.
