Two Arrested, Firearm and Drugs Seized

In a targeted operation yesterday, members of the Public Order Police (POP) Unit arrested two male suspects and confiscated a cache of drugs, a firearm, and ammunition.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding drug sales, officers descended on an address in Lake Road, Bishop Lavis. Information had also indicated that the grounds of a nearby school were being used to store narcotics.

During a sweep of the area, police discovered 50 sachets of tik, seven sachets of cocaine, a .38 Special revolver, and 29 rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 32 and 29, were taken into custody. They face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition, and possession of drugs.

The suspects are expected to make their first court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court once formal charges have been laid.
