A 36-year-old man from the Kingdom of Eswatini was arrested on Sunday, 07 December 2025, for possession of dagga as part of the South African Police Service’s (SAPS) Operation #SaferFestiveSeason.
The arrest occurred during a police operation on the N17 Oshoek road between Ermelo and Chrissiesmeer. Officers intercepted a vehicle and, upon conducting a search, discovered a large quantity of dagga. The confiscated narcotics weighed 30 kilograms, with an estimated street value of R90,000.
The suspect, identified as Sabelo Terrence Ndzabukelwako, was subsequently charged with possession of dagga. He appeared at the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 December 2025. The court granted Ndzabukelwako bail of R2,000. His case was postponed, and he is scheduled to reappear in the same court on 25 February 2026.
