On Thursday, 18 December 2025, members of the Lockdown III police unit arrested four suspects in Athlone.
The arrests followed simultaneous searches of premises on Anthony Street in Silvertown. Three adult males and one adult female were arrested.
Police confiscated Mandrax tablets, crystal meth, cocaine, ecstasy tablets, and an unlicensed firearm from the premises.
The suspects face charges of possession of drugs and possession of an unlicensed firearm. They are due to appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court once formally charged.
