The Seshego Regional Court sentenced 33-year-old Kgabo Andries Sekhwari to two life terms for rape on Friday, 30 January 2026.
The crime occurred on 04 February 2023 at about 03:00. The 27-year-old victim was at a tavern in Spookpark Section when Sekhwari approached her, threatened her with a knife, and forcibly dragged her to his residence. There, in a shack, he raped her twice before releasing her. The victim reported the incident to her family.
A rape case was opened and transferred to the Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS). Investigating officer Sergeant Phineas Ngwepe apprehended Sekhwari on 09 February 2023, three days after the manhunt began.
