
Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested two suspects on charges of drug dealing following a sting operation in the Point area on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
Members of the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit conducted the operation based on intelligence gathered regarding two individuals suspected of dealing drugs within the Point policing precinct. Authorities monitored the movements and activities of the suspects for a period of time prior to the arrests.
During the operation, the team apprehended a 29-year-old suspect who was found in possession of 20 glass vials of cocaine powder. A second suspect, aged 32, was found in possession of 4,200 pieces of rock cocaine, 300 capsules of heroin, 46 glass vials of heroin powder, and 38 mandrax tablets.
The combined street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be approximately R330,000.
Both suspects have been charged with dealing in drugs. They are scheduled to appear before the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 20 February 2026.
