Manhunt Underway After 20 Goats, Farming Equipment Stolen

Police detectives from the Lebowakgomo Stock Theft Unit in Capricorn District have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects following a burglary and stock theft at Ditolwaneng Seleteng.

The complainant left his home on Sunday, 10 May 2026, at approximately 15:00, with all property in good order.

On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, at about 08:00, the complainant received a call from his shepherd reporting a break-in. Upon arrival, the owner found that a fence had been cut and the house door had been forced open.

Police investigations indicate that suspects unlawfully entered the premises and stole a goat ear-piercing machine, a castrating machine, and 20 goats — 17 females and three males. The stolen goods are valued at an estimated R50,000.

Police were notified of the incident on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Cases of burglary and stock theft have been opened for further investigation.
